    Description

On 29 November 2017, the Czech National Bank will issue a commemorative silver 200-crown coin to mark the 650th anniversary of the consecration of the Chapel of St. Wenceslas in the Cathedral of St. Welcome. The 200-crown coin is struck from an alloy containing 925 parts of silver and 75 parts of copper and is issued in two versions, standard and proof, which differ in surface finish and edge design. For top quality coins, the coin field is highly polished and the relief is matte, the edge is smooth with the inscription "ČESKÁ NÁRODNÍ BANKA * Ag 0.925 * 13 g *". Ordinary quality coins have a serrated edge. The diameter of the coin is 31 mm, the weight is 13 g and the thickness is 2.25 mm. As with any coinage, deviations of 0.1 mm in diameter and 0.15 mm in thickness are allowed for these coins. A tolerance of up to 0,26 g in weight and a tolerance of up to 1% in silver content is allowed.
On the obverse of the 200-crown coin is the vault of the chapel of St. Wenceslas. The name of the state "ČESKÁ REPUBLIKA" and the denomination of the coin with the abbreviation of the monetary unit "200 CZK" are located at the bottom of the coin field. The mark of the Czech Mint formed by the letters "Č" and "M" is located in the upper part of the coin field. On the reverse side of the 200-crown coin is a statue of St. Wenceslas and in the background the wall of the chapel of St. Wenceslas studded with semi-precious stones. Around the circumference of the coin is in an unclosed copy the text “CONSENT OF THE CHAPEL OF ST. WENCESLAS IN THE CATHEDRAL OF ST. VÍTA ". At the right edge of the 200-crown coin are the dates "1367" and "2017" in two lines. The initials of the coin's author, academic sculptor Zbyněk Fojtů, which consists of a composition of the letters "F" and "Z", are located at the bottom of the coin field.
Each coin comes with a cream-colored catalog card with a description of the coin and its plastic image.
