Antique Art Nouveau Victorian 800+ Silver Watch Chain Fob Peruzzi Coppini Gothic

Description:  This is a beautiful, antique, silver (800 or greater), watch chain fob. It features wonderful Neoclassical, Renaissance, and Gothic revival elements. The chain links are composed of what looks like a grotesque/gargoyle or a green man alternated with links shaped in a lovely design. There is a coin that has the head of Bacchus on one side and Aeneas on the other and both have wonderful detail. The coin and links were tested via a scratch test (non-invasive) and are silver and possibly sterling but at least 800-900. There are red stones interspersed in the links which may be glass. One stone is missing but it's not noticeable unless you're looking for it. There is a dog clip on one end that is in good order.
The piece doesn't bear any hallmarks so I'm not sure if it's a Victorian Art Nouveau piece, an early 20th-century Art Nouveau piece, or
if
it was made a bit later. The coin tests as sterling, it was harder to test the links because I also got some of the jump rings but they also test as silver and potentially sterling.
This is a quality-made, solid piece that appealed to me as similar to a Peruzzi, Cini, or Coppini piece. The workmanship is very fine and this is a truly beautiful, collectible piece.
Background: Most people are familiar with the god Bacchus or know him by his Greek name Dionysus. However, in the event the name "Aeneas" isn't ringing a bell, he was the hero in the story "The Aeneid" written by Virgil between 29 and 19 BC. If you've ever seen the movie Troy based on Homer's "The Iliad" , he is the young man who leads the remaining citizens of Troy out to safety. He brought them to a land that would become Rome. This is one of a number of popular foundation myths that became part of Roman tradition. Virgil's epic poem was written much later than Homer's "Iliad." It's often suggested that he wrote the Aeneid during the early empire under the reign of Augustus which was known as "The Golden Age of Rome" and that it was influenced by the sentiment of this period or that which the emperor tried to propagate. Being an ancient historian, I focused on the neoclassical aspects but during the Renaissance as there was a rebirth of interest in the classics. Just as well, during the Victorian Era, the Gothic Revival that has started during the Georgian Era continued through the 1860s and Renaissance Revival that followed later in the Victorian Era became part of and was highly influenced by the Art Nouveau Movement c. 1890s-1910s.
Measurements: The total length is approximately 6.5 inches and the width of both rows of links together is around .75 inch. The diameter of the coin is just over an inch.
Weight: Approximately 29.7 grams.
Condition: Good condition with wear in keeping with age and use. There is one stone missing on one of the links closest to the coin.
